“ It is a cruel jest to say to a bootless man that he should lift himself by his own bootstraps. It is even worse to tell a man to lift himself by his own bootstraps when somebody is standing on the boot.”
–Martin Luther King Jr
Dr. King had a long and lasting relationship with labor and the labor movement. His final days alive were spent participating in a sanitation worker strike in Memphis Tennessee.
Dr. King not only fought social justice and equality, but also worker and human rights.
It is why we come to celebrate his life and legacy on his national holiday. Come and be a part of the celebration on Monday, January 16, 2017. We helped sponsor the AA float that will staged at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and E. Independence St. in Tulsa. The time to gather is between 0800-0930, with the parade starting at 11am.
The Labor Movement Was The Principle Force that transformed misery and despair into hope and progress.
