The TWU Maintenance and Related (M&R) Negotiating Committee reconvened in Hurst, Texas on September 9, 2011.This meeting was prompted by what occurred in August following the announcement by NMB Mediator Jack Kane that insufficient progress had been made following a year of mediated sessions to schedule further sessions. At that time American Airlines and the TWU agreed to meet informally without a mediator.
American Airlines Senior Management and M&R Negotiating Committee Co-Chair Larry Pike (President Local 567), Co-Chair Don Videtich (ATD International Representative) and Mark Richard, (Labor Attorney) met informally on Wednesday, September 7, 2011and Thursday, September 8, 2011. Parties discussed all open articles; additional information will be provided and discussed at the next scheduled meeting.
The full TWU M&R Committee met on Friday, September 9, 2011 and were briefed on the informal meetings with American Airlines Senior Management.
American Airlines Senior Management and the TWU agreed to meet informally again the week of October 3, 2011.
