To all 514 members,
First of all, I would like to take this time to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. I for one know just how thankful and blessed I am for my family and friends, without their support, the demands of our negotiations schedule would not have been possible.
Throughout your day you probably ponder, “When is my Union ever going to bring me back a contract.” A contract that makes things fair for me. A contract that gives me the same opportunities as the other Union workers at AA.
I wish I could answer those questions with an exact date. I wish I alone had the authority to do that for you but I do not. I am 1 of 12 at the table and even at that we do not control meeting times, places or even what articles we work on. Those items are decided on by our head negotiator along with the International and the company.
We are coming up on, yet again, another holiday where we are not treated equal to our brothers and sisters at LUS. I am fully aware of the concerns that they are now being compensated more than we are. I will continue to press as hard as I can to bring you a contract worth voting on.
I hope each of you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving with your families even though it’s only one day off instead of two.
Take care
Dale
