The past Stand in Stead (SIS) package several members had trouble when it came to Unemployment. AA contested the validity of this, our attorneys opposed this and won it for the members.
This question was proposed to David Seymour, senior vice president of technical operations by Sean Doyle, TWU International Vice President and this is what AA had to say:
Sean –
In follow up with our conversation yesterday, I did confirm with our HR group that AA will NOT contest unemployment with an TUL-based mechanic that leaves the company under the terms of the recently announced Stand In Stead program set to close in March in TUL. They advised me that they normally do contest but are willing to not do so during this effort.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
David.
