We are deeply saddened to share Brother Dana Pelton’s passing on November 27th, 2024.
Dana started working with us here at American Airlines in 1988 as an Aviation Maintenance Technician in the Hydraulics shop and remained there for 36 years.

March 26, 1961 – November 27, 2024
Dana Bradley Pelton of Collinsville, Oklahoma took his final flight on Wednesday, Nov. 27th, 2024 at 9:28 pm at the age of 63.
Dana was born on March 26, 1961 in Orofino, Idaho to the late Dale and Elaine Pelton. Two brothers, Doug and Gary Pelton, Mother-in-law Shirley Burch and Brother-in-law Jimmy Ray Burch precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Dana Jean Pelton of 34 years, 3 sons, Nathan and Soonhi Pelton of Collinsville, Chris and Megan Pelton of Cherryvale, Kansas and Douglas Pelton of Collinsville. One sister Mindy Pelton Kelley, two grandchildren, Ava and Wyatt Pelton. Brother-in-law, Steve Burch and wife Celesta Burch of Collinsville. Numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful and trusty companion Lady.
Dana grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho and Kalispell, Montana and graduated from Flathead High School class of 1979. After graduating high school, he worked in his uncle’s sawmill for a number of years. Then he enlisted in the Army from 1982 to 1985 with an honorable discharge. After the Army he enrolled into Boise State School Cheyenne Aeronautics with an AP Mechanic License. On March 7, 1988 he started his career at American Airlines as an AP Mechanic in Hydraulics for 36 years. But his greatest achievement happened on Oct. 5, 1990 when he picked his best friend, the most loving, caring, beautiful woman Dana Jean Burch to be his lawfully wedded wife.
Dana attended the Oklahoma School of Ministry and was ordained on June 3, 2003 and served as the Church of Nazarene Children’s Pastor in Tahlequah, Lead pastor in Locust Grove and Nowata.
Dana loved building model airplanes and attending air shows especially with his niece and nephews. He was a devoted Christian who loved his church and his church family.
Visitation will be Noon to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home Chapel. The Family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the Collinsville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Ryan Amey officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
