It is with a heartfelt sadness that we share with you the passing of retired Brother Bob Sullivan on October 5th, 2024.
Bob started working with us here at American Airlines in 1963 and retired from the position of Crew Chief, Welder in 1996.

Robert “Bob” Clarence Sullivan. 90, of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away at his home with family at his side Saturday, October 5, 2024. He was born September 24, 1934 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Hulon Martin Sullivan and Mabel Lilly (Jackson) Sullivan. For a time in his youth, Bob’s family lived in San Diego, California before returning to Oklahoma where he remained throughout the remainder of his life. On May 3, 1952 Bob married Mary Ann Stanley. Throughout his life Bob never lost his love of the rodeo where he was a bronc rider in his younger days. Bob served in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1960 to 1962. Bob and Mary moved to Nowata in March of 1988. Bob was a welder with American Airlines in Tulsa for more than 37 years, retiring as a crew chief. He obtained his private pilot license. He was a master craftsman creating numerous eloquent wood carvings and metal work items.
After 61 years of marriage, Mary Ann passed away on November 30, 2013. Following her death, Bob found the second love of his life in Marjorie McClintock Noe and they were married on March 21, 2015. Bob and Marjorie are members of the Nowata Methodist church. They loved the church family and happily arrived early each service to greet everyone and let them know they were glad to see them. Most of all Bob loved his family and Lord. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding Bob in death are his parents, Hulon and Mabel Sullivan; wife, Mary Ann Sullivan; son, Ronald Keith Sullivan; and brother, Richard Martin Sullivan. Survivors include wife, Majorie Sullivan; daughter, Kathy Blue and husband Paul; two stepdaughters, Dana Noe and husband Steve Archer, Sally Thompson and husband Joe; three grandchildren, Brandi Murcko and husband Chris; Spencer Thompson and wife Lauren; Zach Thompson and wife Ashley; two great grandchildren, Ruby Murcko; and Reece Thompson and many other relatives and a host of friends and loved ones.
Visitation for Bob Sullivan will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday October 8, 2024 at the Benjamin Funeral Service chapel. Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday October 9, 2024 at the Nowata Methodist Church with Reverend Jeffery Rickman officiating. Interment will follow in Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
