On July 17, 2023, Jerry Don Collard left this world naturally, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished in the peaceful, lake community of Whitehorn Cove in Wagoner, OK. He was born on the 20th of September, 1943, in McCrory, AR to Add Lee Collard and Olive Inez Collard.
Jerry was a man of many virtues, known for his courage and his hands that could fix anything.
Jerry’s journey through life was a testament to his steadfast spirit. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from March 1961 to March 1965. His bravery and dedication earned him a Good Conduct Medal and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a testament to his valor.
In his early years, Jerry worked on the farm, but joined the Marines at the age of 17 with his mother’s consent. He had a thirst for knowledge that led him to pursue higher education while working full time. Though he attended only some college, the wisdom he gained from life experiences far surpassed any textbook. His practical knowledge and skills were admired by all who knew him, making Jerry the Aviation Mechanic he was. Jerry spent 26 years working for American Airlines in Tulsa as a mechanic.
Jerry’s love for his family was a beacon that guided his life. His beloved wife, Kimberly Anne Panther, was his confidante, his partner, and his best friend. His brother, Charles Collard and his wife Delia of Harrah, OK, and his sister, Joann Hayes of Camden, TN, shared a bond with Jerry that was forged in love and strengthened by time.
Jerry’s journey bore the marks of a life well-lived. He was known for his courage, a trait that resonated in every aspect of his life, from his service to his country to his daily interactions with those around him. His handy skills were a testament to his resourcefulness, a quality that endeared him to many.

His life serves as a shining example of resilience and determination, a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
No Public Viewing. Service will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Shipman Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, OK. Burial will be at 12:30 pm at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
