Obituary:
Our Father Jerry Wayne McBurnett was born on September 9th 1949 in Salem, Oregon to Billie (Meem) and George (Pops) McBurnett. Jerry was the middle son to George and Billie Including brothers Larry Turner, and Garry Lee.
Dad was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry Turner, and Garry Lee, as well as his wife Linda McBurnett.
He is survived by three loving sons, Larry (Tammi) McBurnett of Glenpool. Brian (Kimberly) Morrison of Claremore, and Chad McGee of Keifer. Although his favorite son and his pride and joy was Half Pint, the most spoiled dog known to mankind.
Grandchildren Jacob Morrison, Ryan McBurnett, Morgan McBurnett and Scotland Morrison.
Dad rekindled a very special friendship with longtime friend Janice Owen and she will dearly miss him.. A relationship that started some 60 years ago and came full circle one again.
Dad was a welder by trade that took him all over the country. He retired from America Airlines in 2009. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping, boating and always tinkering in the shop. He could fix anything, even if wasn’t the prettiest fix. He was known for the practicality of the repair, not the aesthetics. But you better believe it always would work! He received a lung transplant in 2017 and was the oldest recipient at the OBU Medical Center for a lung in their history. He was known to many as a ruthless Wahoo player! Rarely losing a game.
He was loved by his family and loved them with all his heart. I know Larry, Chad and I could always count on him to either fix something, tell us how to, or come up with a solution to a problem. There was no end to what Dad would have done for us. His sense of humor was something else and will be missed greatly.
A celebration of life will be held at the Schaudt Funeral & Cremation Center in Glenpool, Oklahoma on Saturday July 13th at 11AM to 2PM.
