With a heavy heart, we share with you the passing of retired Brother Marcel Polge on February 11, 2025.
Marcel started working at American Airlines in 1956 as an Aviation Maintenance Technician and retired in 1989. Marcel’s son David Polge is a Union Brother here at the Tulsa Base.

Obituary for Marcel Emil Polge
Marcel Emil Polge, Jr. was born on October 5, 1929, in Lexington, Missouri to Marcel Emil Polge, Sr. and Vera Mae (Simmons) Polge. He passed from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years. Marcel was raised and educated in Lexington, MO and graduated with the Lexington, High School Class of 1947. He then enlisted and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force where he spent 4 years in Active Duty U.S. Air Force. Marcel served 2 years at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida and 2 years at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico. Marcel was married on October 13, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Juanita Ione (Purkey) Polge. He earned his A and P mechanic certificate from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa. Marcel spent most of his working life as an airline mechanic with American Airlines for 32 years. During his lunch breaks, he frequently held Bible Studies and shared the gospel on his lunch breaks at American Airlines. He was a longtime faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Owasso, OK. In earlier years in Tulsa, OK, he served at Grace Lutheran and Our Savior Lutheran. In his spare time, Marcel enjoyed a variety of past times such as studying the Word of God, working on cars, working in his yard, and traveling. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by:

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcel and Vera Polge, sister, Betty Barker, and his brother, Bill Polge.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Church in Owasso. There will be a visitation at the church one hour before the service. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marcel’s memory to Faith Lutheran Church, 9222 N. Garnett Rd., Owasso, OK 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service.
