
It is with profound regret that we announce the passing of our retired brother, Michael Bruce Riley, who departed this life on August 5th, 2025. Brother Riley was a dedicated and proud member of our union family, serving as an Aviation Maintenance Technician at American Airlines in Tulsa.
Born on January 18th, 1953, Brother Riley began his career with American Airlines in 1986, dedicating over three decades to the safety and maintenance of our nation’s air travel. He retired from his position in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment to excellence.
Throughout his time at American Airlines, Brother Riley was a valued member of our union. His dedication to our craft and his passion for aviation will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
We extend our sincerest condolences to Brother Riley’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. May they find comfort in the memories of his life, his service, and his unwavering commitment to our union.

Michael Bruce Riley Obituary
Michael Bruce Riley, 72-year-old Sageeyah (Claremore) resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He was born on January 18, 1953, in Stillwater to Euclid Bruce “EB” Riley and Velma (Schlais) Buchanan. Mike worked American Airlines for 34 years before retiring, working as a mechanic, avionics tech, and crew chief in the seat department. He was also a small plane pilot, loved to fish, play the guitar and ride motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family includes; his brother, Steven Bryan Riley and wife Lynn; son Jonathan Riley and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Mike Riley and Jessica Riley, and four great-grandchildren.
