Obituary

Vivian Renee Evans passed away on April 15, 2022, in Bethany Oklahoma at the age of 72.
Renee was born on July 23, 1949, to Carl Evans and Vivian Stinebuck (Turner) Evans in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.

Renee Smith is preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Vivian Evans. Husband, Jasper Gene Smith after thirteen years of marriage.

She is survived by a brother David Evans and wife Wyvone Wilson Evans and family. Step mother Karen Evans and family and many nieces and nephews, friends, and other relatives. Her church family, Pat Shouse, and family.

Renee retired from American Airlines as a stock clerk where she worked for 18 1/2 years.
Her passion in retirement was to work for the REC. An organization to feed low income & homeless people. Homelessness was something she was familiar with as a young alcoholic. “I could never have gotten sober without turning it over to the Lord. That is when I found my way back to God on March 4, 1988. I was a member of Tulakes Baptist Church in Bethany Oklahoma. This is my testimony. Love all of you that are left behind. I enjoyed my cat and gardening.

When Gene passed if it hadn’t been for Pat Shouce I don’t know if I could have handled the grief. He was my rock. No matter what I needed he was always there. I have cherished him as a good friend. Karen who I cherished as a good friend, not just a stepmom. She was there for me through my surgeries and doctor’s appointments for support. I would have been lonely if not for her. I had no close friends since I had moved back to Oklahoma City. We were very good for each other through the grief of my father and husband All of you left in this world take care love each other and yourself. Life can be gone in a breath. God is taking me home. Gene’s family was very supportive after his death. I love them all. I thank you for handling my funeral”
