Transfers and Recalls

Sam Cirri and Mike McDonald have taken issues with this transfer freeze and gotten the Company to agree to post the current openings at the Tulsa Base to fill “A” vacancies prior to assigning the recalls and reassignments. This will allow those that are eligible to put in transfers to openings in the Composite Repair Center, PALM Building and other shops or docks. Therefore, check the Bid boards posted around the base and check on JETNET “Careers” and Job transfers for the most recent openings. Due to the recall this is very time sensitive so don’t rely on just Posted Bid Boards; check online. Bids and awards should be updated every Wednesday. Article 12 of the TWU/AA Contract covers Promotions and Jobs to be Posted, more specifically Attachment 12.1 covers shop to shop transfers with a small part as follows:

ATTACHMENT 12.1 – TRANSFERS TO JOB VACANCIES AT TUL/AFW/MCI MAINTENANCE BASES (revised 4/15/2003)

Re: Transfers to job vacancies at TUL/AFW/MCI maintenance bases

When vacancies are approved which will result in an addition to a shop or job/skill area, an employee at the TUL/AFW/MCI Maintenance Bases will be provided an opportunity to fill the vacancy. Each vacancy as defined above will be posted on all bulletin boards at TUL/AFW/MCI for a period of five (5) days (exclusive of Saturday and Sunday). Responses to the posting must be received by Bid and Qualifications, TUL/AFW/MCI, no later than the closing date indicated on the posting. …. ….

(10) This memorandum will not apply when movement of unusual number of employees is required, such as, shutdown or opening of a shop/line or within thirty (30) calendar days following the crew change in which a recall is effected. Under these conditions the Company may, at its option, make adjustment in its manning requirements to meet its needs.
