Sites we host for the Tulsa Area United Way Partners

As to further our efforts  in support of our communities in the Tulsa and surrounding areas We the membership of the Transport Workers Union of America, Local 514 have been hosting the Tulsa Area United Way Partner Websites since 2011.

The following sites are currently under this host:

Broken Arrow Seniors

The Center is a place where adults can meet others, gain information, receive services, and participate in a variety of activities. The Senior Center programs fosters independence, dignity, community involvement and personal growth. In addition, the Senior Center provides many opportunities for recreation, self-help, companionship and wellness.

A New Leaf

We are a nonprofit organization on a mission to provide individuals with developmental disabilities (including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder) with vocational and residential services to increase their independence and individual choices.

Bristow Social Services

Bristow Social Services incorporated in a nonsectarian organization of churches, volunteers, and community leaders. The significant factor binding us together is our belief in serving our community, particularly those in crisis and those in need of social, spiritual and financial assistance Our organization is dedicated to serving and assisting households and families specifically the elderly and disabled and those seeking the most economic and social needs.

CASA Casino is held every February/March and is Tulsa CASA’s annual signature fundraising event. This black tie gala is celebrating Tulsa CASA’s more than 30 years of service to abused and neglected children in foster care in the court system in Tulsa County as well as a roaring 20’s Gatsby theme.

 

Creek County Literacy Program

The Mission of the Creek County Literacy Program is to encourage, educate and equip aspiring readers to overcome the barriers of illiteracy.

Okmulgee County Homeless Shelter

The Okmulgee County Homeless Shelter is a tax exempt 501c(3), 2-4 day temporary emergency shelter that houses men, women, and children, to move them from their homelessness to self-efficiency.

Show, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit founded in 1976, serves as an employment training center for adults with developmental disabilities and offers after-school care for students and children with developmental disabilities. Recycling is the basis for Show’s vocational program.

TARC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to ensuring a high quality of life for Oklahomans with developmental disabilities and their families through education, empowerment, support and advocacy. The agency was founded in 1952 by the parents of children with disabilities who faced lives in which few options existed beyond institutional care. Those parents were passionate about creating programs and services so their children could live satisfying lives in their own communities. TARC remains as committed today to fostering the well-being, dignity, and rights of citizens with developmental disabilities and their families as did the pioneering parents of more than a half-century ago.

In 1957, The National Council of Jewish Women in Tulsa researched community needs not being addressed. One critical problem identified was that few but the wealthiest families could afford the resources to provide enriching life experiences for children and adults who were mobility-, dexterity-, or sensory-impaired.

Annual Center Polo Classic

Started in 2013, The Center Polo Classic was created as a one-of-a-kind fundraiser for a one-of-a-kind nonprofit organization, The Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges. Now into its 5th year, the event is being called one of “the most unique” events in Tulsa!

The purpose of Wagoner Area Neighbors shall be a cooperative community effort to provide charitable services for our neighbors in need, particularly those not served by existing social service programs, as well as those eligible recipients of existing programs whose needs are not fully met.

Youth Services Of Creek County

Our Mission and Purpose is to provide basic needs and life skills that create a higher quality of life for children and young adults.

We aid in healing for youth and families by counseling. Last year, we counseled 240 kids through our school-based outreach services. We offer help and hope during in emergency situations through crisis intervention. We answered 1500 calls on our 24-hour crisis hotline last year.

We value our future generation by providing education and early intervention prevention.
