Transport Workers Union, Local 514 received the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) letter from American Airlines on September 13, 2012. The WARN Act no longer requires the Company to notify employees individually if represented by a Union unless the state requires it. Oklahoma does NOT require individual notification.

The numbers that the Company listed in this letter are greatly inflated due to the fact that they include anyone that may be affected by a Reduction in Force (RIF).
I will be sitting down with the Company to review the actual RIF numbers for Tulsa.
