Barb Cale and Mike McDonald at Barb’s 45th Anniversary
Barb had battled most of her adult life with Cancer. Yet as a member you would never know it. She would gladly help with all our needs and every president that she served under was blessed with the professionalism and support that only a passionate Union member could provide. The work Barb had done for this local not only placed us in good hands but it helped each president further our cause in the labor arena.
Barb was hired by Harold Nichols who was local 514’s president back in 1965, She served as Programmer/Secretary under Local 514 presidents:
Bob Burns, Jack Lewis, Paul Gaynor, Claude E. Stiles, Vance Warren, Bill Winton, Robert J. (Bob) Ridge, Ed Wilson, James A. (Jimmy) Wilson, Marion L. Finley, Dennis Burchette, Randy McDonald, Mike McDonald, Steve Luis, Sam Cirri
She was instrumental in organizing the secretaries at Local 514
She is survived by her daughter Laurie Phillips Thomas a Tulsa Attorney, a son, Ricky Dean Uhl, an American Airlines employee and a TWU Local 514 member; one granddaughter, Tiffany Phillps and a grandson Ricky Uhl
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and granddaughter Nichole Uhl.
