The 2019 class for the United Way Union Counselor Course has come to an end. Once again Local 514 had participants attend the six-week training. Some may have expected the course rehash the same general topics, but that is where you learn something new. Not only does this class refresh your memory as to what services are available, but also tries to focus on services that may be relevant our union members.
The United Way and the AFL-CIO has had a partnership for decades that connects agencies and union in times of despair or just simple resolve. The Tulsa United Way partners works with 61 agencies to advance the common good in three key sectors, health/safety, education, and financial stability.
So, when you see Arlee Perry, Carol Mathews, or Tracy Hardin out and about, remember they are a resource for our membership to get information about some of the community agencies that are available.
You can also join me in thanking them for volunteering their time to become educated about community service benefits available to us all.
Thank you,
Tracy Hardin
