Local 514’s Digest for the week of January 12, 2024

President:

This week Jay Potter and I traveled to Dallas to continue discussions with the TWU negotiating committee.  Discussions centered around the long list of known issues in all the contracts.  We will travel to Phoenix next week to meet with the IAM to address and recognize their issues and start the process to prepare for the next round of negotiations with the company.

Martin Luther King Jr. and the TWU worked together to fight for civil rights and workers rights. Michael Quill, founder of the TWU,  shared the same beliefs as King and invited him to speak at the 1961 TWU International convention.

Happy MLK day to all.

Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:

Cold weather and Holidays

Your facilities Maintenance group is busy working at the base during this Arctic blast ensuring pipes don’t freeze and preparing for any accumulation of snow and ice, we have several new Boilers that aren’t quite ready for use but Mother Nature doesn’t seem to want to wait until they are, so if you open any Hangar doors please call the Boiler room (918)292-2490 and let them know before you do, so they can prepare for the sudden load.

Be safe, enjoy your Holiday and wish us luck.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime.

We began the new year pretty quiet when it  came to benefits. Most everyone that needed to make changes got a text or email. Now that was only if you made changes for 2024, other than that stay the course. If you do have a question or need help, please contact myself or George Albano

AAERO is still making improvements and trying to stay ahead of the need. If you have some ideas, talk to your crew chief to see if it will work for your organization.
