Local 514’s Digest for the week of June 20, 2025

TWU Local 514

President:

Brothers and Sisters,

TWU Local 514 represents many classifications that reside in 4 contract books. They are MCT (Maintenance Control Technicians), MTS (Maintenance Training Specialists, MLS (Material Logistic Specialists and the M&R book (Maintenance and Related). Sometimes, the Company attempts to have one classification do another group’s work. The IAM did not have Tech Crew Chiefs before the merger, and they still seem to be having problems with their management team’s understanding of the Tech’s role. Please see the posted Association document restating the Tech Crew Chiefs classification description.

As always, I can be reached 24/7 at my new work number 918-913-8057.

Take care,
Dale Danker

Vice President:

Joe and I were in Texas this week for the GRB. We presented 14 grievances. As per the contract, the Grievance Review Board has fourteen (14) days after the meeting dates to respond.

Yesterday, there was a Juneteenth celebration on base. If you attended, you could witness the many talents of AA employees and hear the history of how Juneteenth was formed. Mayor Nichols also spoke during the program. Thank you to all who helped put this together.

It’s going to be very hot and humid this weekend. Be sure to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun if you are outside.

Tomorrow is the TWU 514 Family Day, and we look forward to seeing everyone who can make it.

Marla Johnson

Tracy Hardin:

AERO:

As you may be aware, there is a lot of new equipment being installed that just confirms the need for current and hopefully increased headcount. This also provides an opportunity to become trained on new equipment. As the installation process continues and you see a concern, speak up before it’s too late.

Exc. Vice President Cole Brown paid a visit to AERO as part of her first visit to the Tulsa base. She heard of the great work being performed and wanted to see it in person. Great Job!!

Remember to monitor the bulletin board postings every few days to stay informed of any positions that may open up for shift improvements.

BENEFITS:

I made a reference to protecting your skin from sun exposure a few weeks ago and unfortunately a situation has come forward. Be careful and continue to wear protection.

The treatment process for cancer is constantly changing, so educate yourself and try to stay up to date.

If you are working with a member who is IAM represented and they have questions, just tell them to reach out to us. We can help and point them in the right direction for assistance.

FYI:

When you are making retirement plans and you were granted shares during bankruptcy, try to get that cleared up now. You may have to start with Computshare to find the location and status of any remaining shares. They can be reached at www.computershare.com/us or 888-608-2588.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Juneteenth presentation. There was a lot of hard work and great talent showcased by our members.
