RE: Attendance Arbitration
Late yesterday afternoon, the Association completed the attendance arbitration that was continued from September against American Airlines. Our team completed our witness testimony mid-day Wednesday. The Company began presentation of their case on Wednesday afternoon, completing their witness testimony late Thursday afternoon.
Closing briefs are scheduled to be filed with the arbitrator in early February 2023. Once the briefs are completed and filed, we anticipate a decision from the arbitrator shortly thereafter.
All of us understand the frustration our members face over the use of sick time for its intended purpose, and that was the main reason the arbitration was presented. Once we have more information, we will share it with the membership.
