We wanted to clear up some issues regarding the 83 General and 23 Avionics jobs currently posted on the Shop to Shop Transfer in Tulsa.
The QAM has been recently revised. The changes were sent to the ATD on June 07, 2017 per the CBA. The new revision to Section 2 are now in effect. The Base Maintenance General Mechanic test has changed to the new A-25W & A-25P. The Base Avionics test has changed to the A-30 test.

What does this mean for those currently working in AO?
Everyone who is currently holding a General Mechanic position in AO today or who has passed the GEN-1 AO General Mechanic test in the last 5 years is now prequalified on the A-25W & A-25P. Everyone currently holding an Avionics position in AO today or who has passed the A-35 test in the last 5 years is now prequalified on the A-30 test.
Example A: An AO Gen Mech who bids one of the 83 Gen positions on the Shop to Shop Transfer in Tulsa would not be required to test. An Avionics Mech in AO who bids one of the 23 Avionics positions on the Shop to Shop Transfer in Tulsa would not be required to test.
Example B: An AO Gen Mech who bids one of the Avionics positions who has not passed the A-35 test in the last 5 years would be required to take the A-30 test. In like manner if an Avionics Mechanic bids a Gen Mech position and has not passed the GEN-1 test in the last 5 years, he would be required to take the A-25W & A-25P.
Example C: A shop mechanic who has not worked in or passed the Gen-1 or A-35 test in the last 5 years would also be required to take the respective test, either A-30 or A-25W & A-25P.
In regard to the AMTO’s, they are considered reassigned and would not be required to test. In addition, they will not be restricted from a future 12.L. Station to Station transfer back to Dallas. This means they would be permitted to put in a Request for Transfer to DFW & DWH.
