Hello All, Happy Friday

We are currently going over headcount numbers and open positions with management, there are several current openings that will be posted  internally this bid.

GRIEVANCES

My next grievance meeting with the Hgrs 1, 2 & 3 Director will be on September 10th. I had to reschedule because I attended a benefits meeting out of town.

BENEFITS

I attended the Summer Benefits Conference this past Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday, Acrisure discussed all the voluntary benefits offered by Local 514. On Thursday, American Airlines covered Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, and 401(k) plans, along with the AA Added Benefits the company provides.

I continue to assist members daily with Retirement & Benefit questions. Please leave a message if I don’t answer, and I’ll get back to you.

Grievances

Working grievances in HGR5. I have been meeting a lot of you on all shifts, thank you for the time to talk for a minute, ideas and concerns. Will be meeting with John Hollihan on 9/23/2025 to go over grievances. I appreciate the TWU Shop Stewards, all you do for many on base and off site.

PHONE NUMBER UPDATE

Remember to UPDATE your phone number or address. Check the union site and the company site.

TWUWWC

The Alzheimer’s walk is coming up on 9/20/2025. Please register if you want to walk with the Forget Me Nots. You can do so all the way up to 9/20/2025. DRAWING for the Milwaukee Screw Gun and Impact Driver set was held on 9/4/2025. I was unable to be there, but Lisa Prince and Betty Palmer got it done. Thank you both. Mark Blocher was the winner; he is a CC for Line Maintenance at TLO (the terminal) on MIDS. CONGRATULATIONS Mark! Thank you to all of you who participated and made it a huge success for our TWU Working Women’s Committee to help those A&P students with the cost of testing.

Report of THEFT

I got a report that a mechanic had a tool stolen (HGR5). If you have anything stolen from your personal area, toolbox, or work area, report it immediately to your Supervisor/Crew-Chief. Give dates/times/pictures if possible. We don’t want thieves in our workplace and expect all of us to respect each other’s items. Lock your box/desk when you walk away, and sign off on any computer all the time. Unfortunately, this is something that has recently started in some areas in the last year or so. There are a lot of cameras in all work areas/hallways that can capture what is going on.

DID YOU KNOW

We became TWU 514 in 1945 when Stores (Stock Clerks)  first organized TWU on the property at American Airlines. The following year, they were joined by Maintenance and Fleet Service (then a part of the maintenance contract), and Ground service was added. Our first TWU514 President was Elmo Robert (Bob) Burns, a Stock Clerk (MLS today). He had the poise and strength to pull the developing membership together for the benefit of all the work groups.
