President:
Rollie Reaves and I sat down with five IAM Reps. in DC this week to discuss the possibility of reconvening the Representation Committee. That committee is tasked with handling all contractual issues. There are many issues to resolve, I suspect there will be future meetings with the IAM to work through those issues.
I hope everyone enjoys the Holiday Season.
Vice President:
The Christmas gift pullover will be available to everyone after the first of the year. We will set up dates and times you will be able to come to the Union Hall to pick them up. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
We continue to work on grievances. The officers are doing a great job getting them resolved.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

About a Er Sponsored Healthcare line item on their pay stubs, please read the message below in JetNet when members log into view the paystub. It explains the line item, it is not a deduction from their annual pay. It is only a line item that they would normally see on their W-2, not their paystub. Even if they have no medical, they will see something here because all employees have the onsite clinic access and that is an Employer paid plan as well.
- Announcement:
On your mid-December pay statement, a new line item called Er Sponsored Healthcare (short for Employer Sponsored Healthcare) was displayed in the Additional Information box. This amount reflects the company’s annual contribution for your medical coverage, including access to onsite clinics, and will also appear on your W-2 in box 12-DD as it has in the past. This amount is not a deduction from your wages. If you have questions, please contact the Benefits Service Center at 888-860-6178. Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
- Filing for FMLA :
Continuing treatment by a health care provider means any one of the following:
(1) Incapacity and treatment. A period of incapacity of more than three consecutive, full calendar days,(means 4 days) and any subsequent treatment or period of incapacity relating to the same condition, that also involves:
(i) Treatment two or more times, within 30 days of the first day of incapacity, unless extenuating circumstances exist, by a healthcare provider, by a nurse under direct supervision of a healthcare provider, or by a provider of health care services (e.g., physical therapist) under orders of, or on referral by, a health care provider; or
(ii) Treatment by a health care provider on at least one occasion, which results in a regimen of continuing treatment under the supervision of the health care provider.
(iii) The requirement in paragraphs (i) and (ii) of this definition for treatment by a health care provider means an in-person visit to a health care provider. The first in-person treatment visit must take place within seven days of the first day of incapacity.
(iv) Whether additional treatment visits or a regimen of continuing treatment is necessary within the 30-day period shall be determined by the health care provider. (v) The term “extenuating circumstances” in paragraph
(i) means circumstances beyond the employee’s control that prevent the follow-up visit from occurring as planned by the health care provider. Whether a given set of circumstances are extenuating depends on the facts. See also § 825.115(a)(5)

- Center of Excellence -Supervisors writing employees up for productivity
- Hangar 5- represented 5 employees in Hangar 5. Accused of violating timekeeping policies. When meeting with Supervisors, I made it very clear that a proper investigation was not completed. This time of year can be very exciting for us all. Holiday time with family and friends can make the past year a distant memory. As you celebrate, remember your co-workers, especially the single ones or ones that couldn’t make it back home to their family. Set an extra plate at the table and invite them over even if it is for dessert.
This is a perfect time of year to fall into the substance abuse cycle. Reach out and talk to your co-workers or your EAP Rep. Don’t let the cold and silence isolate you. We are here to help.
The local EAP Rep. is Kristin MacKey @ 292-2464.
