Local 514’s Digest for the week of Dec 24, 2022

President:

Not a lot to report out on this week. As always lots of phone calls trying to help people resolve issues. If I have missed returning your call or text I apologize, please just text me and say “hey don’t forget to call me back”. I get behind on calls and text messages and sometimes the next day I dont catch everyone. As always I can be reached 24/7 at 918-636-6089.

I did receive a late call last night from Rollie Reaves to inform me that one of his Local 567 members was murdered. It’s that kind of news that really puts life into perspective. We continue to ask the company to let more people off around the holidays but their concerns are driven by the dollar and not our families. Please enjoy and make the best memories you can with the short time you have off.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Dale

Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:

Can you imagine the horror, the moral dilemma, the moral obligation to his mother and his father, not to mention the loyalty he had to St. Nick, the night the poor boy saw his momma kissing Santa Clause ?

Holidays are stressful, don’t wait to get help.

I wish all of you and yours Happy Holidays and as always, anything I can help with, feel free to call me.

Executive Board Members at Large:

Tracy Hardin:

On December 20th, the Tulsa Chapter of the Salvation Army Angel Tree program handed out gifts to parents of needy children in the Tulsa area. This year they handed out gifts to 5,500 local kids representing 2,300 families in the Tulsa area. TWU 514 has supported this toy drive for over ten years and this year was no different. We were able to get ninety four angels adopted so they would have presents to open on Christmas morning. Thank you to all of the friends and co-workers for stepping up.

Officers Tracy Hardin and George Albano extend our greatest appreciation. For more on the program follow the link. https://www.kjrh.com/news/local-news/salvation-army-helps-thousands-of-local-kids-with-angel-tree-program

Jay Potter:

I continue to monitor the outsourcing of AA, the company continues to be compliant with the provisions of the CBA.  That being said, the AO in-sourced formula is based on all paid labor hours in workbrain as the denominator; we are dependent on management’s ability to manage the efficiency of the operation with the way they run our maintenance program. The less efficient the operation is, the more maintenance they outsource. The goal of Local 514 is to maintain as much work as possible in-house. It is in all of our interest to be as efficient as we can be in spite of the way management runs the AO operation.

I hope every one of our members has a very Merry Christmas and Holiday Season.

Jay Potter
Local 514 Base Outsourcing Committee

Thank you from the Weeks family:

Joe and I delivered the Christmas presents and food to the Weeks today. They both were very thankful and wanted to pass along their thank you.

Thank you to everyone who participated in making this happen.
