President:
There is no word yet on the sick points arbitration decision.
The “Dodgeball / pickem” grievance has been sent to the company by the Association to set for arbitration. There are several concerns tied to this grievance.
I continue to stress to the Board that working on grievances and upholding the contract is our priority. We are not insurance brokers, and I want the Local Officers relieved of that liability. The insurance companies that charge the members for coverage should sponsor their plans for you. Your elected Reps should not be involved in people’s insurance claims.
Please get in touch with me if needed.

Vice President:
Dale and I met with the Association Rep committee in Pheonix this week. We discussed many issues we have with the interpretation of the contract. We agreed with the IAM on almost all of the differences with the company. We are working together with the IAM to take several items to arbitration.

Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:
Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, we had the TWU FMG (Title 2) International Representative Bill Clark and the TWU International Safety representative Jay Sleeman visit the Tulsa base and begin assessing safety issues at our plating shop; in addition, we also took them around and visited several areas of concern and as you could imagine they were very limited on time but are committed to visit the Tulsa base on a regular basis, hopefully in future visits they can spend even more time with the membership, thank you to our local president Dale Danker for organizing their visit.
Feel free to contact me with any issues you may have.

Carbon monoxide poisoning affects the brain and heart the most. Exposure over time might lead to symptoms that can be mistaken for the flu without the fever. Clearer symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning can include:
-
- Headache.
- Weakness.
- Dizziness.
- Nausea or vomiting.
- Shortness of breath.
- Confusion.
- Blurred vision.
- Drowsiness.
- Loss of muscle control.
- Loss of consciousness.
Please notify a member of Management if these symptoms occur .
Tracy Hardin:
The current battle between CVS Caremark and the state of Oklahoma continues to drag on. The Oklahoma Department of Insurance is accusing CVS of intentionally lying to customers about 90-day prescriptions. CVS is telling customers that a state law passed in 2020 prohibited long-term prescription refills. Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready had a hearing scheduled for late May to hammer out the confusion. More to come.
On Memorial Day 2023, TWU Local 514 helped sponsor the VFW Memorial Day Field of Heroes Display. This year there were 571 pairs of boots on display representing Oklahoma Veterans from Korea, Vietnam, and Post-9/11 that died in action or on duty. This display does not represent all fallen heroes, but is a start. The memorial will continue to grow as more casualties are identified.
Thank you to the volunteers that gave some of the free time to pay respect to our veterans men and women.
Sky Ball XXI has been scheduled for November 11, 2023. If you would like more information or to volunteer, please log onto: www.airpowerfoundation.org/skyball
