February 4, 2015 – Realignment of Aircraft Maintenance

HallMeeting-2-4-2015

The past few weeks AA has been putting together a plan for Realignment of Aircraft Maintenance. This week your Local 514 Leadership has met with AA to review the plans that they have proposed.

Today Local 514 Leadership met with the Executive Stewards at the Hall to discuss the movement. This movement will involve a combination of Surplus and Riff’s. AA Management has assured us that all will have a position in Tulsa if desired.

AMT’s that are surplus and have less seniority than 7-21-1997 will be given Riff options locally or to the System if qualified. The Surplus members that have seniority above 7-21-1997 will be surplused to a shop, most likely in Aircraft Overhaul (AO). We have put together a team consisting of Gary Yingst, Jay Potter, Tony Bunch and David Corbit. They have a meeting scheduled with Mark Easton Thursday at 8am regarding this movement.

As we all know the old Aircraft Fleet is being retired and our maintenance needs are shifting towards AO. As your elected representatives we have concerns on how the reallocation of manpower will be handled. Our goal is to make sure your Seniority and Contractual rights are not violated.

As the details come out we will keep you updated.

Solidarity,

Dale Danker
