A company has used the TWU’s logo to sell facemasks that do not meet federal respiratory standards and are not union made. The Transport Workers Union of America does not sanction the sale of these products and we are fighting to stop it.
A fly-by-night non-union company, which goes by various names including Mercury Tee, Texas Tee and Marzily, has taken the TWU’s logo without permission. These firms are not listed by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) as an approval holder for any N95 filtering facepiece respirator.
The TWU International and some locals are working with reputable companies that produce personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies. Please contact your Division or International Representative if you are a local union leader who has any questions about this.
We don’t want anybody profiting off of our name — particularly during the pandemic. Your union will continue to fight to end this scam.
