Integration of Seniority Lists for Ground Workers at American Airlines and US Airways

The Transport Workers Union, the International Association of Machinists (IAM), American Airlines and US Airways reached an agreement this weekend regarding integration of seniority lists at the new American Airlines, to be created by the merger of American Airlines and US Airways .

The agreement covers Fleet Service Employees, Maintenance Control Technician Employees, Mechanic and Related Employees (including all accreted classifications) and Stock Clerk employees. It provides that seniority list integration for these workers will be based on the date of each worker’s entry into the basic classification.

TWU believes this agreement will protect the rights of our members and all employees at the merged airline. The agreement will also set the stage for a successful merger, long-term job security and quality customer service at the new American Airlines.
