Covid -19

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 10, 2020) — Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt and Commissioner of Health Lance Frye announced today an updated executive order to implement additional statewide COVID-19 mitigation measures.

“I cannot thank Oklahoman’s enough for their tremendous personal sacrifices thus far to protect their loved ones and neighbors from COVID-19. We’re taking further steps to limit the spread of COVID-19 and bring us closer to our three goals: protecting the health and lives of Oklahoman’s, keeping businesses open safely and getting our kids safely back in school,” said Gov. Stitt. “Our healthcare workers, hospitals, students and teachers and small business owners need our help.”

Grievance:

When filling out a grievance form, be sure to verify the information that is auto populating with the grievant. We have had several complaints that the grievant did not get an email, that is because we did not have a current email address for the grievant.

The Grievance form should be signed by the grievant, not by the Shop Steward/Union Representative.

We have also been noticing that on Step 2, Management has not been holding the meeting that they agreed to in our CBA – Article 33, Step 2 process which states:

If no satisfactory adjustment is reached in Step 1, it may be appealed in writing or electronically through the Union within ten (10) days from the receipt of the Step 1 answer to the Department Head designated by the Company or his designee, who shall evaluate the grievance or complaint and render his decision, in writing, in the space provided on the standard official grievance form or electronic equivalent as soon as possible, but not later than ten (10) days following the meeting date.

The Department Head or his designee shall establish meeting dates each month consistent with the volume of grievances at his level to assure timely resolution or disposition of such grievances.

When the Company conducts a Step 2 meeting the Union Representative(s), employee, and necessary employee witnesses, shall receive their applicable rate of pay. The Step 2 meetings will be conducted during the regular day shift hours, unless mutually agreed to otherwise.

We have addressed this with the Association Grievance Review Board and it was communicated to me that they are meeting today with Jim Weel, MD, Labor Relations.
