The devastating effects of the COVID-19 virus have caused a historic drop in demand for air travel. As a result of our business changing, we have a surplus of team members in certain bid areas within Tulsa Base. While these events have an impact on each of our team members, we must continue to demonstrate our flexibility to support the heavy maintenance needs of the airline. This along with the Voluntary Early Outs have created a shortage in many bid areas. Based on the contractual provision of the TWU/IAM Airline Mechanic & Related Employee Association Article 9 paragraph FF the Company plans to realign the workforce.
The following areas have a surplus of team members:

In order to bid on the positions, you must meet the Qualifications under Article 8 and currently be in the Classification. If volunteers are not available, employees will be assigned in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Employees being reassigned, bid their shift and days off in accordance to the Agreement during the next rebid. They will be placed into the open positions/shifts in the interim.
If interested, please personally hand in the attached bid sheet in preference order with all pertinent information filled out to the Tulsa Administration Center no later than 1700 hours Friday September 4. By volunteering for one of these openings you are agreeing to waive your seven-day notice.
*IF YOUR BID SHEET IS STILL ON FILE ON THE ABOVE DATE YOU CANNOT RESCIND YOUR BID.
*Vacancies in the Technical Crew Chief and Inspection classification in Tulsa, in addition to OSM vacancies at DWH, will be posted via the automated system under the careers section of Jetnet in the upcoming weeks.
