Letter from Tom Higginbotham  to the IAM Membership:

Mechanic and Related
Maintenance Training Specialist

After more than three years of negotiations, with many distractions and ups and downs, your  negotiating committees have reached a tentative agreement with the Company. Without your solidarity and support, this would not have been possible.  Highlights of the proposed tentative agreements are posted on the District 142 web site www.iamdl142.org . In accordance with District 142 By-Laws, your committee will work diligently to compile the Tentative Agreements with all changes to the current Collective Bargaining Agreements clearly marked, for the memberships review. Once those documents are completed, they will be shipped to all locations, as well as placed on the District 142 web page. Once distributed to all locations, a schedule will be established for membership meetings to explain the tentative agreements and answer any questions.
A date will be set for a ratification vote after all information meetings have taken place.

After the merger announcement with American Airlines, your committees have stood their ground in achieving non-concessionary, standalone agreements that address the current needs of this membership and provides increases moving forward during the time Joint Collective Bargaining Agreements (JCBA) are negotiated.
Your committees believe these Tentative Agreements achieve this goal and unanimously recommend ratification of these agreements.

Fraternally yours,
Tom Higginbotham
PRESIDENT & DIRECTING GENERAL CHAIR
