We wanted to let you know that Wage Works identified an overpayment situation. They have identified 297 employees who received overpayments. The overpayments occurred due to errors on Spectera’s claim file.
Below is a letter that will be sent to employee impacted this week:
Dear (First Name),
You are receiving this letter because you have been reimbursed in duplicate for a vision claim through your Health Spending Account administered by WageWorks. This type of duplicate reimbursement is known as on overpayment of claims. We apologize for this error and the cause of the error is now corrected.
We are not permitted to provide reimbursement for a claim more than once. This means that we can only use your funds for substantiated eligible expenses. In order for us to do that, we can use future approved expenses to account for the overspend amount or receive the overpayment back.
The inaccurate overpayments are:
[amount1] from your [account] [amount2] from your [account]If you file “Pay Me Back” (manual) or if you have auto-reimbursement, then future claims will automatically be used to pay back the overpayment amount. If your approved future claims amounts equal or exceed the overpayment, then no further action on your part is required
If you do not anticipate incurring future claims that equal or exceed your overpayment, there are two additional ways you may choose to repay the remaining balance of funds you received in error:
Option 1: Return Your WageWorks Payment
If you have a WageWorks check you have not yet deposited, you can return it to WageWorks and it will be applied towards the overpayment.
Option 2: Send a Personal Check
You can also choose to send a personal check for the overpayment amount.
Mail the WageWorks check or your personal check made out to WageWorks with your Employee ID in the memo field to:

You will still be able to use your Healthcare (debit) card if you have activated it.
