We elect officials to guarantee the interests of everyday Americans are represented by our government. And when issues that affect us are at stake, you’d better believe we’re going to hold our officials accountable.
The Senate is expected to vote this week on whether to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. Some lawmakers who vocally oppose a minimum wage increase must think we’re sleeping through their assault on American workers. But we’re wide awake. And it’s up to us to make sure the collective voice of working families is heard loud and clear by those on Capitol Hill.
Send an e-mail to your senator now and tell him or her to stand up for what’s right by voting “YES” to increase the minimum wage.
Raising the minimum wage is the right thing to do for American workers. It will create jobs and grow our economy. But the biggest reason to raise the wage is you—approximately 80% of the American public supports raising the minimum wage.
It’s time for our lawmakers to represent the people who elected them, not CEOs and Wall Street corporations who want to put profit over American workers. We’re the ones to hold them accountable.
E-mail your senator now and tell him or her to vote for a minimum wage increase:
