Jerry Alan Dixon, 85, was welcomed into eternity on April 10, 2022. He was born on July 29, 1936, in Tulsa, OK to Richard and Helen (Farar) Dixon. He was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma, only leaving when he served his country in the United States Navy. On June 6, 1958 Jerry married the love of his life, Margaret Jane Webb, and had three children Phillip Michael, Mark Lewis, and Kimberly Sue. Jerry and Margaret happily shared 47 years of marriage.
After serving in the Navy, Jerry and Margaret moved their family to Collinsville, OK in 1964. Jerry made a career working for American Airlines. He retired from American Airlines after 35 years. In his community, he served as board member for the Collinsville Public School system and as treasurer for the Collinsville Rural Fire Department. Throughout his life, Jerry had a great passion for his various hobbies and interests. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and was an avid OU football fan. He loved gardening and canning his produce, photography, wood-working, bee-keeping, and genealogy. He read an endless amount of books, watched old westerns, attended antique car shows, and worked many puzzles every winter. Above it all, Jerry’s most favorite thing was helping and caring for his friends and family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret, his son Mark, his siblings Marilynn, Linda, Eugene, and Patricia. He is survived by his son, Phillip, and wife Christie; daughter Kim Sallee and husband Stan; grandchildren Brian, Matthew, Tylar, Adriane, Amanda, Christian, Joseph, Erica, Stanley, and Sophia; numerous great grandchildren; and loving companion, Nancy Helvey.
Visitation is held on Wednesday, April 13th, 12:00-8:00PM, at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Services, 1302 West Main Street, Collinsville, OK. The family will be present from 5:00-7:00PM. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 14th, 10:00AM, at Meadowcreek United Methodist Church, 14205 East 146th Street North, Collinsville, OK.
