Bogus Tulsa closing letter – Transport Workers Union Local 514

Saturday April 29th I received a text message from Shop Steward Norman Vaughn questioning a letter he got his hands on. The letter from AA chief test pilot mentioned that the Tulsa base would close in the future. As we all should do Norman knew it needed verified.

I called AA’s Senior Vice President – Integrated Operations, David Seymour to discuss the letter and he determined that it was a doctored letter. The below attached letters are the doctored letter, original letter with names blacked out and David Seymour’s explanation of what happened and the company’s commitment to the Tulsa base.

It seems lately we find letters circulating the base and even being handed out by our own members with misinformation. I can not tell you why or what their motivations are. It is however obvious that if we do what shop steward Norman Vaughn did, which was to find out the facts and not perpetuate a rumor, those that wish to spread misinformation will be exposed.
