President:
The company notified the Union in a meeting at noon on Wednesday that the work in hangar 80 will cease in the next few months.
Article 6 j) of the current agreement:
J. The Company, at a minimum, will maintain 26-line maintenance stations, staffed on all three basic shifts, and will utilize line maintenance AMTs covered by this Agreement at the following stations: BOS, CLT, DCA, DFW, JFK, LAX, LGA, MIA, ORD, PHL, PHX, SFO, and STL and at least thirteen (13) other stations as determined by the Company. The Company may transfer or assign non-powered work performed by Line Maintenance to GSE at these locations where applicable. The Company agrees it will not close any of the thirteen (13) named stations above, unless all mainline flying ceases permanently at such station. In the event of the closure of any such named station, the Company shall, in consultation with the Association, designate an additional station for coverage by this Article J Prior to closing or opening any other station covered by this Section J, the Company will meet and confer with the Association.
The company retains the right to determine where it is best to put flights for revenue. They have the right to name 13 unlisted stations to perform overnight maintenance. Tulsa was such a station. The Union members that maintained those aircraft along with our MLS and Facilities teams did an outstanding job. The company knows what we are capable of. If flights come back to Tulsa we will be ready to take care of those aircraft. The contract allows for station protection so no employees will be furloughed. They will be absorbed into the hangar 5 and 6 operation.
To the folks that worked in Hangar 80 during this period I want to say thank you. You helped deliver an aircraft back into service every single time.
Unprecedented performance!
Vice President:
I attended the FACES (Female AMT’s Connection for Empowerment and Support) this week at headquarters.
Women are only 2% of American Airlines A and P mechanics. We also had a group of female pilots who represent 6% of the pilot population at AA.
Robert Isom reported we have been profitable the last two quarters and expects to see that continue. David Seymour stated that they are committed to Tulsa. He talked about the enhancements in the engine shops and that they will manage 960 engines this year. Kevin Brickner also stated that they are committed to Tulsa.
Vacation bids are tentatively scheduled to start Dec 1, 2022. It will be a live electronic bid. Most areas bid by shift and in those areas your selection time should be during your regular shift hours but not necessarily your day at work. You will be able to go into the program and set preferences. You will still need to go back at your scheduled bid time to see if they are still available. Check your AA email often for more information.
Veterans Day is Nov 11, 2022. Thank you to all our veterans.

The trees will be positioned across the base with angels hanging on them next week. So take a few seconds and try to bring a little joy to a child in need this holiday season.
The Tulsa Area United Way has been a part of the Tulsa community since 1924 serving Tulsa and the five surrounding counties. Although local American Airlines has stepped away from a dedicated campaign, TWU514 continues to support in every way possible. One of our efforts is offering a way for our members to support the organization and its 59 partner agencies. We have put a link on the local’s home page to help you start the donation process. The need is real and your donation can make a big impact.
