Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:

It’s that time of year again

no, not the holidays, well the holidays too, but I’m talking about it’s time for the contractual quarterly facilities update from the company. I’m headed to DFW this week to ask for more headcount and try to expose in a fair manner the basic function of the facility maintenance group (FMG) is not being addressed because of the low headcount, wish us luck.

Take time to realize the beauty and reason of the holidays, look at Christmas lights, watch a Christmas movie, get under some mistletoe, and just be careful; it’s very dangerous stuff, and it’s been known to cause pregnancy, affairs, and new relationships.

Drug testing for foreign aviation-repair stations

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said on Wednesday it wants to require aviation-repair stations in foreign countries to conduct drug and alcohol testing for employees performing safety-sensitive maintenance functions for U.S. airlines.

The FAA said few countries require testing of aviation or maintenance personnel.

The proposed rule would impact approximately 977 repair stations in 65 countries and ensure that “employees are held to the same high level of safety standards regardless of where they are physically located.”

The FAA has been considering the issue for decades and Congress previously directed the agency to set the requirements.

Salvation Army Drive

The drive has started now and will end on December 18th.

We are looking for donations of socks, gloves, warm hats, scarves, and even blankets. We are working with the leadership at the base to have donation boxes placed at key points and will have one here at the hall.
