The following is an update on events regarding the TWU/IAM association:
- On the 10th of October, Garry Drummond, Director of the Air Transport Division of the TWU, sent a letter off to Mr. Sito Pantoja General Vice President IAM – Transportation Dept. with unresolved issues that require immediate attention. See the letter to S Pantoja HERE.
- A reply to Garry Drummond on this topic was sent on October 24, 2014, from Timothy Kilma, IAM’s Airline Coordinator. That letter can be read HERE .
- Harry Lombardo’s correspondence to Mr. R. Thomas Buffenbarger President IAM. Concerning Timothy Kilma’s letter. Read it HERE.
The reality is that the TWU and the IAM have made an Association agreement. As we wait to hear from the NMB on the filing of the association the TWU International will continue to try and resolve issues as stated in the October 10th letter from Garry Drummond. We have many challenges ahead that will require a creative strategy to further benefit the members of American Airlines & US Airways.
I will be attending a special presidents council meeting set for November 6, 2014 in Washington D.C. at the TWU International office.
I will let it be known that it is the interest of local 514 to support the fastest path to restoration through negotiations.
In Solidarity,
Dale Danker
President, TWU local 514
