VIDEO – President Danker letter to Tulsa Base Managing Director, Ed Sangricco RE: May Re-Bid
RE: May re-bid – 2021
Mr. Sangricco,
This letter is in response to meetings held on March 19th and March 23rd which involved discussion concerning the Tulsa May re-bid.
First, let me say that your accusations yesterday morning that John Coveny and I do not work with the company to resolve issues were not only offensive to me but are factually inaccurate. You only need to ask your own Directors past and present to find out the truth on situations where we have joined together to solve multiple issues.
The reason I’ve made the above statement is because in the situation before us now you have not given us an honest opportunity to work with your team to find a better path forward. How long did your team work on the destructive May bid plan you put in front of us yesterday? Did you work on it for more than three business days?
You made the statement to Local 514 VP Kendal Anderson on Friday, March 19th, 2021 in a weekly communication meeting with your team that the “Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday” day off pattern “was going to happen”. Yet in that meeting, you did not offer for us to work with your team or give our input. In yesterday’s meeting, you said multiple times that it was a proposal and you would welcome suggestions. You also made the statement that your team could meet with us but it would have to be done by Friday because the bid sheets need to go up by Monday.
President Dale Danker, also made a video with more details.

Membership Meetings
It is the Executive Board’s decision that the March membership meetings scheduled for Monday March 29th, 2021 have been canceled. We grow hopeful that we can resume our meetings in April 2021. We will follow the CDC recommendations as safety has always been the Union’s number one concern.
Vacation – New Contract Language
L. An employee may split vacation in periods of not less than one week consistent with vacation scheduling. This selection must be made in between normal days off. Once the initial list has been finalized, an employee may be permitted to take five (5) consecutive days of vacation over the period of two (2) different workweeks, provided a written request is submitted thirty (30) days prior to the vacation period and the vacation ratio is maintained in both weeks.
M. An employee’s scheduled days off immediately following his vacation will be the same as his scheduled days off immediately preceding his vacation.
With the company insisting on adding additional day off schedules in A/O, you need to be aware of how they are coding your vacation period. You may need to add DAT days to your scheduled vacation or schedule a swap off to accommodate the days you thought you were getting for your vacation.
