The first Thriving Marriage retreats the weekend of February 11-12 serving two different groups: couples raising a child with autism, and OKDHS child support case workers and their spouses. These FREE, two-day, one night, all-expense-paid retreats will be held at the Embassy Suites in Norman, OK.
The retreats offer couples time away together, valuable relationship skills, and the opportunity to meet other couples with similar experience. During the retreat, couples will participate in relationship-focused workshop that teaches skills for improving communication, keeping the spark alive, and renewing marital commitment. Saturday evening offers a date night with a delicious dinner for two and ends with a few steps around the memories. Sunday, offers a day full of resources and practical information for the specific groups.
Children do not attend, but funding is available to help with childcare. Please note that couples who have attended a retreat within the last two years will be placed on a waiting list.
Thriving Marriages is still working to confirm dates for the rest of the retreats. Other groups served will include grandparents raising grandchildren, foster parents, step-families, National Guard members and their spouses, financially vulnerable couples, and couples who have experienced incarceration.
