The rapid spread of coronavirus (COVID 19) has sparked alarm worldwide and within the labor movement. In response to this pandemic, the House of Representatives passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, H.R. 6201 which covers medical costs and supports the economic security of working families. But we need the U.S. Senate to act quickly and pass a coronavirus stimulus package immediately to ensure relief is provided to frontline workers in the transportation industry.
The Senate must hear the loud voice of TWU members saying WE NEED THESE PROTECTIONS NOW!
Call your Senator at (202) 224-3121 to pass a coronavirus stimulus package that protects transportation workers immediately.

“Hello, my name is ______ and I am a member of the Transport Workers Union from [city/town]. This is urgent: Please tell Senator _____ to support a stimulus package that protects transportation workers immediately. Airlines, railroads, and public transit are all facing massive drops in passengers and increased costs due to the public health crisis. These industries employ more than 1 million Americans and any support from the federal government must prioritize these workers – not corporate profits. “
The staffer will now ask for your name, address and/or email.
After you provide this information it’s time to end the call… “Thanks for your time. Have a nice day.”
