Vice President:
Terry and I have been in Charlotte, NC this week preparing for benefits enrollment. We will have eight enrollment counselors available starting Monday, Oct 17, 2022 in Hangar 3 HOC. If you do not wish to sit with a counselor, make sure to go into Jetnet and confirm your selections.
DAT selection is available October, 15, 2022. I urge everyone to go into workbrain to ensure you have the correct DAT days selected. Also, start thinking about your block vacation requests. This year will be electronic. You will be assigned a time to go in and select your time off. It will be live, so you will know what is available and can better plan your next year’s time off. I recommend getting a calendar and marking out your days off to determine which week(s) you will need to select.
Chairman of Maintenance:
Safety has been conducting safety meetings and Fire Drills around the base this week.

Chairman of Facilities Maintenance:
FMG is looking for volunteers in every shop for Union Representatives, safety auditors, chemical coordinators and hopefully a volunteer in every shop that knows TMA well, if you are interested in any of these positions please talk to your crew chief and get involved, all of these positions will help our cause.
My goal as your Chairman is to build back our organization by raising our headcount and these filled positions will help us do just that.
Our current budgeted headcount is 308, the total number of heads we have on base currently is 304.
As always feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Executive Board Members at Large:
AAERO
The engine department has been on a pretty steady pace for quite some time. With the industry leading turn time of 51-53 days, it would be easy to just set back and coast. In order to stay in front you have to continue to improve your product. The leadership has indicated that is what they want to do. They want to upgrade and improve the equipment. Provide opportunities for more training where it is needed and continue to listen to the mechanics about new or better processes. As a mechanic, use this culture to make your workplace more enjoyable and show your craftsmanship.
Labor Council Thank You
I have been talking about the State Fair information booth for about a month and how TWU514 needed volunteers. I am proud to say that a few of our members heard my plea and stepped up.
I would like to thank 514 members George Albano, Jennifer Brown and daughter, David Cooper, Robert Short, and retiree Mike “Bear” Messick for giving up a few hours for the benefit of all of us.
Hangars 5 and 6 – Management Correspondence
Please share with your crews HOC 5&6 has received recognition from V.P. Greg Emerson and M.D. Ed Sangricco. They both have recognized our organization for its exceptional performance. Mr. Emerson stated on our weekly metrics call yesterday, that HOC 5&6 was the shining star of the maintenance organizations to include all vendors. Hats off to you and your crews for the great work that continues to flow from hangars 5&6. Ed Sangricco also took a moment to praise the HOC 5&6 team on the 0830 operational call this morning.
The 737 fleet is the most vulnerable to running out of time and could mean parking the aircraft until a maintenance check is completed. When we continually put aircraft in service early or on-time, we create contingency in the long range maintenance plan. HOC 5&6 has been crucial in creating this flexibility which allows us to help the airline by picking up checks on the 737 fleet. Being flexible is a huge help to the airline and our senior leaders recognize the HOC 5&6 organization for it. Ultimately keeping our fleets out flying is keeping passengers happy. Good job to all and keep up the great work.
